Driver Pad
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 October 2026
1. Who we are
Driver Pad is a driving diary and tachograph companion app for professional drivers, available on Android (Google Play) and on the web. Driver Pad is developed and operated by SerP Dev (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for (the “controller” of) the personal information described in this policy.
This policy applies to the Driver Pad app and the driverpad.app website. Contact: admin@driverpad.app.
2. Information we collect
| Type | What it includes | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Account details | Name, email address and sign-in method (email and password, or your Google account). Passwords are never visible to us. | You, or Google if you choose “Continue with Google” |
| Driver profile | Driving licence number and expiry date, employment type, company name and vehicle registration, if you enter them | You |
| Diary records | Shifts, events, loads, deliveries, breaks, expenses and amounts, mileage, vehicle registrations, notes and the times they were recorded | You |
| Tachograph data | Card holder details (name, card number, card validity, date of birth, licence number), daily driving/work/rest activity, distances, vehicles used, places, events and faults. The original card file is not kept. | Your driver card, when you read it with a card reader or import a card file |
| Location | Your precise position and the matching address | Your device, only while you use a feature that needs it (start/finish shift, records, expenses, parking map). We do not track your location in the background. |
| Parking contributions | Parking places you add: description, address, map position, facilities, price and capacity | You |
| Subscription and purchase details | Plan, status, free trial, renewal date, purchase and payment history. We never receive your full card details. | Google Play or our card payment provider |
| Device and notification data | A notification identifier for your device, so we can send you service notifications | Your device |
| Support messages | Anything you send us when you contact support | You |
| Tester signup | Your Google Play email address, sent to our admin mailbox so we can invite you. We also process basic request metadata such as your IP address and browser details, and keep short-lived hashed rate-limit records on the server to prevent repeated submissions. | You and your website request |
We do not collect your contacts, call logs, SMS messages, browsing history or advertising identifiers, and Driver Pad contains no advertising.
On the driverpad.app website we use only essential browser storage to keep you signed in to your account. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
3. Photos, fingerprint and device permissions
- Photos you attach to diary records or parking places are saved in a “DriverPad” album on your own device. They are not uploaded to us and nobody else can see them.
- Fingerprint / biometric unlock is handled entirely by your phone. We never receive or store your fingerprint or any biometric data.
- Driver Pad asks for location, camera, photos, notifications, biometric unlock and card reader access only when you use a feature that needs it. You can withdraw any permission at any time in your phone settings; the related feature will then stop working.
4. How we use your information
| Purpose | Legal basis (UK/EU GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Provide your account, driving diary, tachograph dashboard, working time and driving rule summaries and expense records | Performance of our contract with you |
| Fill in addresses and show nearby parking using your location | Your consent (location permission), which you can withdraw at any time |
| Manage subscriptions, free trials, payments and refunds | Contract; legal obligation (tax and accounting) |
| Show parking places you add to other Driver Pad users | Contract; our legitimate interest in a useful shared parking map |
| Send service notifications (for example important account or app messages) | Contract; your consent for notifications |
| Provide support, prevent misuse and fraud, and keep the service secure | Our legitimate interests; legal obligation |
| Handle your tester signup and send welcome instructions and download links | Your consent when you submit the form; our legitimate interest in preventing signup abuse |
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.
5. Who we share information with
We share personal information only with the following types of parties, and only as far as needed for the purposes above:
- Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers that store your account and records and run the Driver Pad service for us (including sign-in and notification delivery). They act on our instructions only and must keep your data secure and confidential.
- Payment and app store providers: Google Play processes subscriptions bought in the Android app; Stripe processes card payments made on the web. They receive the details needed to take payment, and their own privacy policies apply to the payment information they collect.
- Google, if you choose to sign in with your Google account (Google confirms your identity and shares your name and email address with us).
- Map and location service providers: map images and public parking information come from OpenStreetMap, which receives the map area you are viewing and, when you search for nearby parking, your approximate position. Addresses are looked up using your phone’s built-in location services, which are provided by your device maker or operating system.
- Other Driver Pad users can see parking places you add. Your name and account are not shown with them.
- Authorities, regulators or courts, where we are required by law or need to protect our rights, users or the public.
- A successor business, if Driver Pad is sold or transferred; this policy will continue to protect your information.
Your diary and tachograph records are private to you. Authorised Driver Pad staff can access them only where needed for support, billing, moderation or security.
6. International transfers
Some of our service providers may process information outside the UK or European Economic Area. Where this happens, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
7. Data security
Information is encrypted in transit and access is restricted to authorised people who need it. No system can be guaranteed 100% secure, but we regularly review and improve our safeguards.
8. How long we keep information
- We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete individual diary records and tachograph downloads at any time in the app.
- When you delete your account in the app or on the website, your account, profile, diary records and tachograph data are deleted straight away. Short-term recovery copies kept by our cloud provider are removed automatically within 7 days.
- Requests made by email are completed within 30 days of us confirming the request.
- A record of your subscription and payments (plan, dates and amounts – never card details) is kept for up to 6 years after your last payment, as required for tax and accounting, and then deleted.
- Parking places you added stay on the shared map without any link to you.
9. Deleting your account
You can delete your account in the app under Settings → Account → Delete account, on the website under My account → Account → Delete account, or by following our Delete Account instructions. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription – cancel it first in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions) or, for web subscriptions, in the app under Settings → Subscription details or on the website under My account → Subscription.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under UK or EU GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to restrict or object to its use, and to withdraw consent at any time. To make a request, email admin@driverpad.app. We will reply within one month.
You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. In the UK this is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
11. Children
Driver Pad is intended for adult professional drivers and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version, and significant changes will be announced in the app.
